Located on the other side of the River Tiber from the Colosseum and Rome city center proper, Trastevere is a large area with many accommodation options at various price points.

Some of them are close to the river and well-positioned to allow access to the most beautiful part of Trastebre and also the city center. Others are a little farther from the historical center of Rome and come with the advantage of a more budget-friendly price tag.

Trastevere is a lovely area to stay in Rome and I believe it is particularly suited to people who want to enjoy the Rome food scene, couples and people who want to explore some of Rome’s hidden gems as well as the city’s most famous landmarks.

This is my selection of hotels in Rome Trastevere I believe you may enjoy.

I have also included guesthouses and apartments as this area has many of them, often with excellent facilities and prices.

If you are not familiar with the area and are wondering if it is a good neighborhood for you, you can read our travel guide to the Trastevere district here.
