Mama Loves Rome
A local mama's guide to the Eternal City

See and Do

Deciding what to see and do in Rome can be daunting. The title of the famous book: ‘Rome, one lifetime is not enough’ (to know it) captures the immensity of the artistic and human heritage of the city but this doesn’t mean that the visitor cannot get a good sense for the city with the right advice and tips.

In this part of the site, we share our favorite things to see and do in Rome.

The first time visitor will find information on the main Rome landmarks: while I love going off the beaten track, I believe it would be crazy to go to Rome and not see the Colosseum or Piazza Navona, Seriously, do not skip them! But do read out articles on how to avoid the queues!

The returning visitor or those who have a little more time to enjoy the city can venture farther afield: for them, I have a selection of lesser known places that I believe are worth seeing.

Whether this is your first time in Rome or your 100th, I believe you will find something in this section that will make you reminisce about the city and possibly want to go back.

Safe travels!
