7 baby friendly hotels in Rome you will love

7 of the best baby friendly hotels in Rome for you vacation in Rome with a baby. A handpicked Rome hotels with extra attentions for babies and their parents.

One of the biggest worries for parents planning a first trip to Rome with a baby is finding baby friendly accommodation in the city.

Staying in a hotel with a little one is always a little daunting: will there be enough space in the rooms for you and the baby; will the area be safe and family friendly; what if you need to heat up baby food at night, will the hotel be able to help?

On top of these questions, Rome adds to the worry as some historical properties may not have an elevator, a lot of space or be easily baby proofed.

This is why I am here to help!

I am a Rome mama and since I have lived abroad for a long time, I have many friends with small children who come and visit from abroad and need a baby friendly hotel in Rome.

I also myself often stay in hotels as a little treat to me and my family and, over the course of the years, I have selected great hotels for babies in Rome city center and beyond.

This is my handpicked selection.

I have chosen these hotels on the basis of:

  • Location – as much as possible, I focussed onto the area that is closest to Rome’s top ten attractions and the city center
  • Overall Facilities
  • Extra attentions for babies / extra baby facilities
  • Attitude of staff towards babies and kids in general

I hope you enjoy I!

Need to know: in Rome, you always need to tell the hotel you are traveling with a baby in advance as they need to know the number of occupants in the room to guarantee your booking. Do not book a room for two thinking you can co-sleep: unlike in other countries, where this is ok, Italian rules forbid hotels to have more people in the room than what declared at the time of booking.

The best baby friendly hotels in Rome – my top picks!

In general, Rome hotels are able to offer a baby cot (free of charge, but book in advance) but only in few cases they have baby facilities on site.

This means that if you are looking at hotels in Rome, you will find many that are ok with babies, but not necessarily offering anything special to your patents and their little ones.

The best baby friendly hotels we have found in terms of extra facilities that are just for babies are:
