Barnum is a cafe / American breakfast place in Rome city center (Campo de’ Fiori), serving a great American breakfast as well as traditional Italian coffee and pastry option.
This places is well known, very popular and does not accept reservations, so you may have to wait a while to get a table. However, if you’re in luck and get a spot, I am sure you’ll love it!
The menu has savory options like avocado toast, scrambled eggs and bacon, salad, bagels etc and sweet ones such as pancakes, pastries cookies, granola and a more. Some gluten free and vegetarian options are available.

Bakery House (Trieste -Salario)
Bakery House is a lovely American Breakfast joint in Rome that I first discovered while on a quest for pancakes for my daughter!
The place is lovely and has many breakfast options, savory and sweet, bunch and lunch options.
The menu includes eggs (many styles), French toast, pancakes, waffles, donuts, pastries, cakes and brunch/lunch options such as burgers, sandwiches and wraps.
Drinks include milk, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice and, a mimosa brunch option at weekends!
Gluten free and lactose free options available.

Homebaked (Vatican)
Homebaked in Trastevere is one of the best known places in Rome for American Breakfast and a solid favorite according not just to me, but also by the many American friends who regularly rave about this place!
Homebaked has pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice and brewed coffee, so if you are done with the Italian type, you may find here your little corner of heaven!

Coromandel (city center)
Coromandel is one of the best known places for American style breakfast in Rome city center and a good one to check out if you are in the area and crave an international breakfast spot.
The menu has savory options such as eggs, omelettes, toast / croque madame, bacon (and a lot more later in the day, when it becomes also a lunch spot) and shines for things such as pancakes, French toast, cakes, pastries and more.
The decor is very curated and photogenic, with vibes that mix old world and an exotic touch that leaves nothing to chance.
Coromandel is very well known and even got featured by social media influencers so booking is highly recommend.

Bulgari Cafe (city center – luxury)
If you are looking for an American Breakfast in a luxury environment in Rome city center, the you need to go to the cafe of the Bolgari hotel.
Only open in the last couple of years, the hotel is beautiful and has a cafe open to non guests with curated and delicious breakfast options that follow both the Italian and American tradition.
Among the cooked offerings there are organic eggs (scrambled, fried, Benedict, Florentine…), French toast, toast, pancaked, porridge, then of course granola, yogurt, pastries, cakes and more. There is also a selection of fresh juice and coffee.
