Great international restaurants in Rome: where to eat in Rome when you need a break from Italian food

by Marta Correale

My handpicked selection of my best non-Italian and international restaurants in Rome for a non-Italian meal

Rome is a large city with a wonderful mixed cultural make up and, therefore, several lovely international restaurants with cuisines other than the most traditional local one.

Seeking out non Italian food in Rome is not something to feel bad about: many people ask me for recommendations for non-Italian food here as if the request was shameful but it is most definitely not the case as us Romans also often go to non-Italian restaurants, so why shouldn’t you?

In Rome, the most represented non Italian cuisines are Indian, Japanese, Japanese-Brazilian Fusion, plus some good addresses for Mexican and Burger / American food, which is what you see reflected on this list. Of course, the list is not exhaustive of options: the selection reflects my selection for quality and ease of reach from the city center.

I hope you enjoy it !
